AS 9110
AS 9110 is based on AS 9100 and adds specific requirements that are critical for the maintenance of commercial, private, and military aircrafts. This standard defines the quality system requirements based on AS9100:2000 with additional criteria for maintenance repair and overhaul facilities (MRO’s) serving the aircraft industry.
Aircraft are designed to perform for 50 years or longer, but properly maintaining them is essential for the product's total life cycle and continued safe operation. AS9110 is used to complement the expanded use of ISO 9001 by major aerospace repair stations worldwide
FAA 145 certified repair stations are prime candidates to seek certification under AS 9110. Entities seeking Parts Manufacturing Approval (PMA) from the FAA to manufacture aircraft parts and components would likely also seek AS 9110 certification.
